I find it interesting to write and have people read that which I put down on “paper.” I mean, who knew? I believe it was around 2006 that I figured out how to build a website and then use the software to do this. As we all know, nothing comes easy but once a person begins to understand servers it gets easier but by force. There’s a million ways to screw up a website and I believe I found about 92% of them. Learn from doing is what I am good at. That’s it. I’m not good at anything else.
Plain old doing is how I have figured out my life. The mistakes I have made are legion but I learned by shutting the window on my head, so to speak. The same for driving, riding bikes, skateboards (broken leg lesson), and just being stupid at times. Stupid is a GREAT teacher, let me tell you! I was so good at it to.
When I came up with the non-word, Xog, I thought it would flop like a banana peel off a fifty story building. Nothing ventured . . . is one of my favorite sayings. There’s more to it, but I am old and I forget details. Being old only means you have time to learn new things. Unless you get involved with drinking at ten in the morning which is one way to screw up an entire day, life, existence. I don’t drink. Just coffee and water which was wonderful in combat. A cup of coffee when the shooting stops is a miraculous thing. Never take a cup of coffee for granted!
I come here from over there. Combat is what turned me into this rather insidious writer of words. An outlet for fatigue, if you will. Combat never ceases to be the reason for fatigue. It ain’t nice. Too much idle time is not good for us. I give you protestors. There’s much better ways to make a living but I suppose it depends on how great one thinks they are. Most who think they’re great are in for a disastrous surprise. I’ve watched a few do this, like my brother. He died of a heart attack at 59. That was shocking to some but not to me. He drank like a fish and thought he was an architect. He was good at it though. Really good and has a few structures still carrying his name as the architect. Unfortunately his ego eventually did him in. Ego is a waste of humanity. Nobody is so good as to brag about it but some do. It just goes to show, there’s always something to trip over if your eyes are closed.
Eyes wide open is how I do things. Take a preliminary look to figure out the basics then go for it. Servers are the same thing but the look before leaping takes a few years and that means one hell of a lot of looking. Oh, yeah, and expect to make mistakes. We all do as far as I know.
